Octavio has produced some of the highest-scoring Pink Bourbon we have tasted from Colombia. His coffees are consistently expressive, with remarkable intensity and complexity. In the cup we find tropical fruit, mango, pomegranate, and hibiscus.

ALTITUDE: 1,830 masl
HARVEST: December, 2024
PROCESSING: Hand-picked at peak ripeness. Floated to further remove defects. Held in-cherry overnight. De-pulped. Fermented underwater for 80 hours. Washed. Dried on raised beds until moisture content reaches 10.5%.

During coffee-buying trips, we divide our time between cupping labs, visiting longtime partners, and seeking out new producers. Thousands of small coffee farmers have never had their coffees tasted by a specialty buyer, and each year we dedicate time to discovering them. Octavio Rueda’s coffee first stood out on a purchasing table, and we have now been buying from him for several years. He consistently produces one of our favorite Pink Bourbons in all of Colombia.
