Chelbesa

The kebele (community) of Worka Chelbesa is located in Gedeb, which is the southernmost part of the Gedeo region. Over the last decade, the Worka Chelbesa region has become increasingly known for the production of specialty coffees, which is why this region was one of the first places in which coffee producer Neguesse Debela wanted to invest when he started in coffee a few years ago.

In 2017, Neguesse began operating its first site in Worka Chelbesa, but quickly developed in 2019 by buying another washing station a few kilometers away in a small sub-area of Worka Chelbesa called Danche. Both sites, led by Negusse and his team, run impeccably washed and treated coffees naturally, but also create unique experimental lots with the aim of always improving their quality.

Worka Chelbesa's coffees are unique in that they combine a large juicy body, with the lighter citrus tones and florality that you normally find in Ethiopian cafes with little body.
